FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

About our maps

What are your maps made of and how are they made?

Our maps are made of high quality wood and paints. We use high precision laser cutters to cut and engrave our maps. All pre and post cut work is done by hand with great attention for the final product.

What maps do you offer and what are the differences?

So far we offer world maps in 2D and 3D configurations. The 2D maps are in a single layer with all pieces in one color. The 3D maps are in two layers. The base layer is presented in natural wood color while the second layer consists of different pieces for countries or regions in 5 different colors.

What size map is the best for me?

The best way to determine your ideal size map is to measure the surface that you intend to place your map. It is best that the map does nut clutter your wall.

What do I get in the box when I buy a map from you?

Our maps re carefully boxed and include all the pieces for your map and extra decorative pieces such as planes, boats and a compass. You will also find, the adhesive tape that you will need to stick your map, an instructions manual to help you place your map correctly and the distance guides for most pieces that are not directly connected with other pieces.

Are pins included in the box?

Both marker pins and flag pins are sold separately. Choose the ones you like and we will include them in the same shipment with your map.

Installing the map

Is it easy to install the map?

Using the instructions manual and the placement guides will make the installation of your map very easy. The process can be fun for the whole family, to cut the adhesive tape, place it on the pieces and then on the wall. It is better to take your time and follow the steps to achieve the best results.

What if I want to remove the map from my wall, is it easy?

Like most glues, the glue on the adhesive tape, in time gets stronger. It is best not to pull the pieces from your wall without heating the glue first to make it soft. You can do this by using a regular hair dryer and apply heat between the piece and the wall. Test slowly if the piece pulls out easily, if not apply more heat. If you want to install the map again, you must scrape the old tape from a piece and apply new pieces of adhesive tape.

How do I clean the map?

It is best to just use a duster on your map and avoid cleaning materials that might damage the surface or the paint. It is also best to avoid installing the map above heat sources or in places with high humidity.
